Good Day 2008

This is the first blog for the year. And it has been ever so amazing. As a headsup, I will be moving back home after a yr and half. The past year has been ever so amazing. From work, life realisation and even self realisation.

I have a lot of mixed feelings towards going home. It brings sadness yet excitement towards a new era of my life. Unbelievable. It feels like the first day of school, the first day of starting work and all rolled into one. But this is very cleared that this is the right move.

I also have realised that we need not be defined by our pay and opportunities which we have accumulated. If that is our measurement, we are doomed to fail. We get them because we are capable of doing so. And as long as we listen to ourself, we will succeed. In self realisation, I have realised that I have been very true to myself in the past. And in doing so, I have killed myself for just very little. It is fortunate that I have extricated myself and prevent self death. And can walk our relatively unscathed to progress further. But most importantly, I have also met a match who has constantly guide me alongside.

I love my life and would like to do more.

Singapore Girls

Was just hanging out with the girls the other day and the topics of marriage and Singapore Girls popped up. Apparently, in a recent wedding which she attended, she observed that the couple is made up of a Singaporean guy and an Indonesian girl. Out of curiosity, she asked if the groom would have found his match in a singaporean girl. And the feedback was that Singaporean girls are more superficial as well as tends to put men down.

In just another food for thought then, has he reflected on the kinds of girls that he likes? If you are looking for trophy girlfriend and mummy girls, WHAT DID U EXPECT? One is driven to look good so that they can hang off rich guys arms, and the other has a mum behind her including dressing her.

Essentially these guys just want to follow the crowd and trend for girls. When they cant get them, they just start wincing. What about that nice girl you met from the last party...Nah..She is too fat, too plain, not to pretty... Oh pls..

Life journal

I had a friend came by the other day sharing with me a thought on life update. A little ppt/blog updating ppl on what goes on in their life. I thought it was a fabulous idea aboout keeping people updated on their life situations/well being.

But then, hey, I thought. It is also rather meaningless book of collecting trophies and memories. Because the best journal is that on top of your head. The best video recorder is that of your heart. Everytime, there is something to be remembered. It will hit the rec button in your heart first, then it starts filming in your head. It is a scene that when you recall, it has a sound, smell, taste and emotion attached. That is what I call a first class video cam. When you want to review it again, it will create a special space allowing you the privacy of the space and recreating the scenes until you hit the delete button.

Sometimes, the delete button cannot be so easily hit. Not because we do not how to, but because we do not want to. There is also a stop button where sometimes we can hit it too in the midst of watching.

I like this video cam and the best part is not to be shared so easily.

Days....

Days passed..Weeks passed and Months passed. I have begun to learn more about what we call the psychology of thoughts and behaviour. Believing in that you will learn a lesson in every scenario in your life. Remember. It will repeat itself until you learnt the point.

There is absolutely no such things as bad luck and bad things happen to good people. You attract them simply by thoughts as well as energy that you generated. Focus on things that you truly want to happen to you. And they will. Simply because it is a transfer of energy and the magnetic fields around you.

Simple test. Think your shoe is ugly. It is the ugliest paiar in the world and it is on your feet. Think that everyone who passes by you , absolutely hate your shoe. Girls will snicker and guys will shake their head in horror. Watch. You have got yourself a little shoe parade. Just dun say I didn't warn you on the reactions to be expected.

My lessons to be learnt focused on the below:

A. Attitude towards life (Holistic view)
B. In Love

I realised that if you cannot understand what it even means to savour that one sec that you have. How can you bear to spend the rest of your life together? In the same aspect where if you do not know what to do on a rainy afternoon. What do you think about immortality?

Things to be thankful for

Things I am thankful for today:

a. I am thankful that I am in love with the sweetest man and whom I share a deep and meaningful relationship with. Love that we can talk about anything under the sun, moon and stars.

b. I am glad that I am chinese with absolutely exotic culture

Thoughts

It is a very simple word. We have millions of them running through our head as the day goes on. While we are in the toilet, singing, working and eating. It covers from fantasy, loved ones, wish list to If- Only-I-had.

If we allow ourselves to entertain the idea that each thought has a consequence in our life, what will you then be thinking about? I had a thought many years ago. I thought that how nice it will be to be able to work overseas, to enjoy the sense of independence. I allow that thought to evolve to become a dream, then a goal.

In this same sense of which a thought allows me to attain my goal. At the same time, I am short change because I restrict myself in certain view of thoughts. Therefore, I am inspired to look into myself and listen more. And think of careful thoughts without planting any roots of unnceccessary dissent and potential disaster to the future. Think more happy thoughts as well as lovely dreams. I owe it to myself to be kinder to myself.

How have you been? Haven beeb posting blog for a longtime. What shall I write about? So many damn things. Let's start with gratitude. I am very gladful for a couple of things in my life.

A. Grateful for being born in this era

I am really grateful for being born in this times. Why? This is the period of times where I can still see so many of life true heros to be alive on earth and see their interview. To be able to share a time period and breathe the same air as them. I know there will be more to come but in each era of life, there is a different themes of heros. In the early ninties, it was dominated by innovators and genius - Marie Curie, Wright Brothers and Albert Einstein. But in my era, there are heros who fought for inequality, fairness, justice and ideals. Lee Kuan Yew, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa. I feel sad for children who will only be able to read of these from books.

B. Grateful for good and bad bosses

With bad bosses, then can you identify good bosses. With the white, you cannot see the black. In work, its the same. This is so that you can better identify your true goals in life and enjoy the most of it.

C. Grateful for Serendipity

Without it, I would not have met the love of my life and walk out of painful situations.

Tomorrow. We shall talk more. I need to balance my psychology.

I have been watching a lot of Oprah recently. And to say that we have been overly shielded from the happening in the world might be a little understated.

I would say wake up and smell the fresh air! There are so many things going on around the world.
